Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Davenport, Iowa was established by members of our founding German immigrants (before they were formally organized as B’Nai Israel Congregation) in 1851. This group formed an Association which maintained the cemetery and established the early guidelines of Jewish burial in this cemetery. The cost was $5.00 yearly and members were required to join the Cemetery Association before membership in the actual congregation.
While many have difficulty discussing funeral and burial arrangements, the highest levels of respect and dignity are maintained while working through these challenging and confidential decisions.
It is with esteemed honor that we take great pride and accept responsibility for maintaining this historical property throughout our past history and in the years to come. Please feel comfortable contacting us to discuss plans for Jewish funeral and burial services or for information on purchasing a plot at Mt. Nebo, other cemetery guidelines or Planned Giving Bequests.
You will be directed to the best people to assist you.
