Historically the Adult Education programs have been developed by the Adult Education and Tikkun Olam Committees in collaboration with the Rabbi. The Adult Education programs are generally led by our Rabbi with input from members of the Board of Trustees and congregants.
Over the past few years some of these programs have included: Judaism 101, Judaism and Ethics, Beginning Hebrew Classes, B’Nei Mitzvah Classes for Adults and the differences between Judaism and Christianity.
The Tikkun Olam Committee has sponsored programs such as Bridges of Faith and Interfaith Dialogues (learning about the similarities and differences of Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism and Hinduism). A new series entitled, “Focus On” was introduced this past year which included two sessions on Ethical Challenges Facing the Media and Ethics Regarding the End of Life Decision-Making, both providing a Jewish perspective to kick off each workshop. More “Focus On” programming is scheduled for this year. The schedule of these programs may be found on our Calendar.
We are always interested in new topics, so if you are young or old or somewhere in-between and you have some fresh ideas about topics you would like to explore, please contact our Rabbi at firstname.lastname@example.org or the Temple Office to get in touch with someone from one of our committees.
